Anna Friedrich combines documentary filmmaking and writing with media education, journalism, and nature conservation. Born in Thuringia in 1991, the filmmaker and author gained experience through internships and workshops, including with Bartek Konopka and Ostlicht Filmproduktion. She took part in Werkleitz’s Professional Media Masterclass in 2012 and Tradewind Pictures’ TP2 Talentpool in 2013. The pilot season of her web series “Stories from Reality” received the MDM emerging talent award. From 2015 to 2020, she studied Arabic studies in Leipzig and worked with RUFY’S Films during a stay in Alexandria. In 2020, she began studying documentary directing at Film University Babelsberg. Friedrich is a member of the Leipzig film initiative FILZ.
