IFFR Rotterdam World Premiere of Les Rites de Passage

The experimental short film LES RITES DE PASSAGE by Florian Fischer and Johannes Krell will have its world premiere in the prestigious Tiger Short Competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

A dense fog gently dissolving into the currents of a river. Light falling through countless holes into the heart of a tree. Monocultural forests infested by parasites yet forming fertile ground for new life.

The film will be shown in the Tiger Short Competition alongside works by Lin Htet Aung, Maria Inês Gonçalves and Billy Roisz. This IFFR section is dedicated to works whose formal and narrative experimentation opens up new perspectives on the medium of film.

The premiere takes place on Sunday, 2 February 2025 at 8:45 pm at Pathé 3.

LES RITES DE PASSAGE is a visually striking exploration of the cycles of becoming and passing away, in which the earthly merges with the mythological. The film takes audiences on a contemplative journey through the transitions and fragility of life.
