Yalda Afsah combines media art and film in an artistic practice presented internationally. Born in Berlin in 1983, she began studying media art at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle in 2006 and later studied Art and Media at Berlin University of the Arts. During her studies, she also spent time in the Film/Video programme at the California Institute of the Arts. She received a working grant for visual art in 2017 and took part in the Berlin Program for Artists in 2018. Her films have screened at the New York Film Festival, the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, and the Locarno Film Festival, among others.
