Music Director Omar Shalash

Omar Shalash is a musician, oud maker and filmmaker based in Halle (Saale), Germany. Since 2011, he has crafted the traditional Middle Eastern lutes he also plays in his own workshop; together with Robert Dobe, he directed the documentary Starting with Fragments, which draws on the film archive left behind by their friend Tamer Alawam to explore war, responsibility and political action.
