The FFA strengthens German film from development and production through to domestic and international distribution. As Germany’s central national film funding institution, it supports both commercial and artistic films across genres, preserves the country’s film heritage, and promotes film education and film culture. Through grants, loans, scholarships, awards, and programmes such as Next Generation Short Tiger, it also supports emerging film professionals, cultural diversity, and the international visibility of German cinema.
